Optional limit (up to 500 files, default 100) and before (next_before from the page before, for older files). Returns items: each file once with its identity, name, title, media_type, last_kind and last_words (what happened last, and how the Recent screen says it), last_at, and kinds (the newest time of every kind of use); next_before; and said, the count in words. A file no longer kept drops out. record_file_use (or tool:record-file-use) keeps a use.
